About Us
The Junior Woman's Club is a new social, cultural and philanthropic
organization for residents of Upper St. Clair and surrounding communities
including Peters Township, Bethel Park, South Park, South Fayette, and
Mt. Lebanon. The mission of the organization is to provide a place for
women to develop friendships, volunteer for the community and to expand
culturally.
The Junior Woman's Club was officially formed on June 1, 2002 as a
Department of the
of the Woman's Club of Upper St. Clair. The Woman's Club of Upper St.
Clair was established over 50 years ago. There are five other Departments
within the Woman's Club: Music, Drama, Home and Garden, Today's Living,
and Book Club. As a member of the Junior Woman's Club, you're invited
to attend the events sponsored by the other Departments.
The planning for the formation of the Junior Woman's Club took nearly
one year. Six women from the community organized events. The events
included a Holiday Tea, Couples' Event for Christmas, Self-Defense Workshop,
Beat The Winter Blahs Presentation, Girls' Night Out at a local restaurant,
The Carlisle Collection Fashion Show, and a Game Night for Girls. The
women that attended the events were surveyed about the possibility of
starting a club. Based on the survey results, it was decided that a
club should be formed. The initial programs and events were started
based on the results of the surveys.
Most events are held at the Woman's Club of Upper St. Clair's Clubhouse.
The Clubhouse is nestled in a residential neighborhood at 2541 Edgewood
Drive in Upper St. Clair. The private Clubhouse welcomes members to
an elegantly decorated gathering area with a fully-equipped kitchen
and pantry, complete with china and linens, a patio, and an office.
Parking is also available for guests.
