Helping the Foundation

The Community Foundation is grateful for any support you are able to give. Over the years, the time, financial donations, and resources of generous residents, businesses, and organizations in our community have done more that sustain us; they have helped us grow. We look upon our donors and volunteers as true partners in our success.

Donations

Financial contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible. Unless anonymity is requested, all donors receive a public "thank you" in our Foundation newsletter. Financial contributions can take several forms.

1) Cash or check sent to our office:
Executive Director
2585 Washington Road, Suite 131A
Upper St. Clair, PA 15241

2) Appreciated Securities:
If you own stock that has appreciated over the years, you could avoid the capital gains tax and protect your cash flow by donating these securities directly to a charitable organization. You also can use these assets to make donation while still protecting an income stream for yourself or your beneficiaries (e.g., through a charitable remainder trust). For this type of financial contribution, a donor can deduct up to 30% of his or her adjusted gross income in the year of the gift. Any excess can be carried over for up to five years.

Confidential inquiries may be made to the Executive Director, 412-257-5682.

Volunteering

Put your talents to work for your community. The Foundation always is seeking people to help staff its office, run and promote sponsored events, plan new events, communicate its accomplishments to the community, raise funds, and build the eCommunity. We also seek individuals with a talent or interest in one of our four focus areas: Education, Fine & Performing Arts, Sports & Leisure, Science & Technology.
