About Mainstreetusc

Located just a few miles south of Pittsburgh, PA, Upper St. Clair (USC) is a community with roughly 20,000 residents, a few small businesses, and several organizations. Locally, we are known for our superior K-12 schools, as well as for our residents' strong sense of civic responsibility and "good neighborliness."

What's missing? Like many suburban communities, USC has lacked a true nucleus to anchor its governments, homes, businesses, and organizations.

Under the auspices of the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair, that's all changing. This site provides USC with its long-awaited Main Street -- a virtual town center for residents, prospective residents, and visitors to explore what's here and what's happening, and to bring our community closer together.

Mainstreetusc.com was created as one way to fulfill the mission of the Science & Technology Focus Group of the Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair.

Our mission is to encourage, implement and manage projects and programs that apply science and technology in a way that will improve the quality of life in the community, including applications in the area of information sharing, communication, health and safety. We will facilitate this mission by:

• Providing resources to help organizations and individuals in our community take advantage of technology

• Providing on-going learning opportunities to residents to update their knowledge and skills to use technology effectively and constructively

• Providing an information umbrella to bring together our community's people, organizations, schools, businesses, and government
